If you like taking off the pegs to remove the header pipe and replace the gasket, than by all means use a new unit each time your pipe loosens up from the vibration. The two header bolts on mine need retightening weekly (if I remember to check them, usually more like bi-monthly or so), and generally they have backed off far enough for the pipe to rattle, thus requiring a new gasket to do it right. Suzuki OEM parts cost too much far what you get in my opinion, so my 98 stil has its many times squashed gasket. Backfires at any change in the throttle postion, but other than that, it hasn't seemed to have harmed it any.
